WE CAN HELP. WE'D LIKE TO HELP
ABOUT US
WE ARE THE MISSING PIECE
We Seek to Engage
As we seek to engage and meet needs in the world around us, we’ve learned that families are able to supplement their groceries at area food pantries and, in some cases, through Food Stamp benefits. However, few resources exist for assistance with non-food essentials: household and personal products.
We are communities of faith and philanthropy, working together to help persons in need with the essentials of personal and household hygiene, thereby enriching the quality of life for them by preserving individual dignity and promoting a healthy household environment.
We are all Volunteers, taking our time to serve those in need.
What we do is
Provide the missing piece of personal and household products that are needed to help people succeed and stay healthy.
What we do isn’t food
But people don’t have to choose between laundry or food because of PEP. And, people eat safer when they can wash the pots and pans they cook in.
What we do isn't education
But kids and adults learn better if they don’t worry about others teasing them about their clothes, odor, or appearance.
What we do isn’t employment
But people can obtain and keep a job when they’re able to shower, shampoo their hair, wash their clothes and use deodorant.
What we do isn’t housing
But a landlord will be satisfied with clean floors, windows, sinks and toilets; and more likely to return a security deposit.
What we do isn’t health
But people are less likely to become sick if they can brush their teeth regularly, and simple scratches will heal quickly without infection if soap is available.
Personal Essentials Pantry- Stoughton, has proudly served our community for over 15 years. PEP-Stoughton is a local 503C nonprofit organization and is part of PEPartnership, Inc. We provide the missing essentials for individual personal and household needs. You’ve found the missing piece to your health and hygiene. Whether it’s having the soap to avoid a simple cut becoming an infection or brushing your teeth to stay healthy, we understand that sometimes it can be difficult for individuals to afford their basic essentials. In every area of life, when you’re lacking your essentials, there can be a sense of hopelessness, guilt, or shame. Our best defense is to provide the necessary resources to help you face everyday life while feeling healthy and whole. We collectively work with the people in our community to gain the resources to help those in need of their bare essentials.
HELPING WITH THE ESSENTIALS
Become a Volunteer
We are all Volunteers, taking our time to serve those in need.
There are many ways you can play a part with the Personal Essentials Pantry:
- Volunteer to help during the pantry open hours. You could help as a greeter, shopper, server and generally friendly face.
- Volunteer to help behind the scenes with data entry, product sorting, product pickup and stocking or providing treats.
- Donate to help stock the pantry.
- Give regularly to keep the pantry stocked.
- Donate needed items to the pantry. Your donations are welcome. However, we can get special quantity pricing on most items, so encourage you to get the most bang for your buck by supporting the pantry financially.
